Very special thanks to Les Briscoe for making the videos, pics and alternate mixes available to me for inclusion on this site!

Les has been a total treasure trove of information concerning our joint BITE/GUNLAW days together. On this page you can listen to rough mixes of SOLDIER OF FORTUNE and WOLF that he coerced out of OAK STUDIO and committed to C120 cassette during the sessions for our (unreleased) COMING IN FROM THE GLOOM e.p.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE is a dryer mix compared to our final band approved mix and lack Roger's " .. Sol-dier!" chant on the last refrain of the song. The very first split-second of the song warbles a bit, but not enough to not  warrant it's inclusion here.

The 1st rough mix of WOLF has Dave's drumstick count-in before Les comes in with his bass and there's also a tambourine very much to the forefront of the mix (played by Rog possibly). This is also a very dry mix compared to our final band approved mix.

The 2nd rough mix of WOLF has prominant drum toms mixed to the lefthand side. The tambourine's mixed furthur to the right and is set back more into the mix. There's also the addition of a 3 note keyboard drone in the middle 8 of the song which was mixed back in the final mix. This particular version omits most of our backing vocals for that section.

These versions are particularly special as they exist nowhere else.

These 3 songs were given their 1st Mastering from Les' original C120 on the 28th December 2008 at KEBABYLON STUDIO.
