Much of the music on this site comes from 1st Gen reel-to-reel tapes that were made back in the day. It comes as a very welcome suprise to find that Les asked Ronnie Rogers to put our final mixes on a Teac Studio 52 Metal tape when we recorded at Ron's BOATCLUB STUDIO. The 1st Gen copies of our reels taken from Ronnies desk and transferred over to the Teac tape sound amazing! Going through the contents of the Teac tape, the songs are in a different order as to how we wanted them released (so I've put them in the correct running order on the Flash player on this page). There were 2 songs on this tape that I didn't Master and transfer over: instrumental versions of PROMISES and SHOWDOWN. PROMISES I didn't bother with, because there's already a supurb version of it on one of the other GUNLAW pages and the version on the Teac tape shows signs of degradation/tape drop-out. I also didn't transfer SHOWDOWN, as that too is showing severe degradation/tape drop-out. More's the pity, as the other instrumental we have on this site retains Kerry (Dave's sister)'s backing vocal and the version on the Teac tape doesn't. However, the songs that were salvaged (all tracks for both cassingles and 1 outtake) sound fantastic and I'm very thankful to Les for allowing me to put them here. Cheers, Les!
